Welcome to the Institution of Fire Engineers  (Sri Lanka) Branch

The Sri Lanka Branch of the Institution of Fire Engineers UK was inaugurated on the 29th October 1988 by the General Secretary of the IFE, (UK) Mrs. C.E. Mackwood at the Conference Hall of the Ministry of Civil Security, Colombo 2.

The Institution is an Association established to promote, encourage and improve the science and practice of Fire Engineering, Fire Prevention and Fire extinction and all operations and expedients connected therewith and to give an impulse to ideas likely to be useful in connection with or in relation to such Science and Practice to the Members of the Institution and to the community at large. The IFE is at the heart of the fire community, promoting best practice and advancing the discipline for the benefit of society and supporting the professional development of members.
